CHINA SPRING, TX — Keith Ace Hardware in China Spring is giving away free flower kits to those who stop by.
Since many are now in a shelter in place, the ones at Ace Hardware are looking to bring some fun to your backyard.
Store Manager Brian Keith knew with the recent restrictions cheering up needed to be done.
"People are pretty upset and down right now and everything else we wanted to get involved with them something for the kids at home," Keith said.
They gave away Marigold and Sunflower kits to all kids that stop by - hoping to spark some excitement in gardening.
Kennedy Montgomery loves planting flowers especially during this time of year.
"It's basically spring time and they will grow better," Montgomery said.
Unfortunately, Montgomery said she was inspired after she found a dead rabbit in her yard and decided to bury it. When she heard about the flower kits at Ace Hardware, she wanted to do something nice for the bunny.
"I was going to plant flowers for the rabbit," Montgomery said.
Keith knows that he relies on his customers and now he is relying on them more than before.
"We wouldn't be here without our customers and the community so we just do what we can to kinda help them out," Keith said.
To pick up a free marigold flower kit, their store hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturday they are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
