HAMILTON, TX — Wenzel Lonestar Meat Co. & Deli in Hamilton is overjoyed by the amount of support coming from his community.
Kent Wenzel, the owner has even expanded his menu to serve more than the typical deli. Selling things like toilet paper, bleach, and rice he wanted those hard to find items easier for his customers.
"We made a one-stop-shop here, they call in their order see what we got. We bulk it up and deliver it outside," Wenzel said.
He's had an unsuspecting surge of customers outside of Hamilton as well.
"Through social media, we've been getting a lot of outsiders come in for our product and we've been shipping a lot out," Wenzel said.
Regular, Isaac Newton, loves stopping by at least once a week.
"Especially during these times it's harder for everybody but some people are hit harder than others," Newton said.
You can buy meat by the pound but Newton usually goes for the special of the day. The pulled pork and rueben are some of his favorites.
"Kind of makes you feel a little normal to be able to go out and shop local and get you that good meal," Newton said.
