WACO, TX — As many of us have been cooped up inside the Waco Paddle Co. is providing some fun in the sun.
Having to close their doors for the first half of their season due to a pandemic, owner Ross Harris was excited to get back out on the water again.
Re-opening the first week of May there were some new protocols that needed to be taken.
"Every piece of equipment that people use or touch while they're here gets disinfected between uses," Harris said.
Choosing between a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, it's sure to have fun for the whole family. Stacie Skodinski and Michael Wenger love spending time outside and the last few months have been difficult.
"I'd say we've been cooped up for two months now so we needed to get out get some fresh air get some sun," Wenger said.
Skodinski has been out on a Waco Paddle Co. kayak before and she's excited to be out again.
"Anytime that we can try to get outside even if it's for an hour or two we definitely try to be able to do that," Skodinski said.
The best part is you don't have to bring or do much if you want to enjoy the Brazos River.
"All you have to do is a sign a release form and we'll do all the heavy lifting for you," Harris said.
Of course times were hard in the beginning, closing the first half of their season meant their employees weren't being paid. Now that they can operate again, Harris and his crew are so happy for those who are coming out.
"We and I know they are very grateful for the ones that come out to support us during this time," Harris said.
Almost anyone can get out on the water, they have life vest sizes for toddlers to adults. Those under 18 years need to have a parent or legal guardian out on the water with them at all times. Visit the Waco Paddle CO.website to book your next adventure, you can also follow them onFacebook.
