TEMPLE, TX — The Old Jody's Restaurant in Temple has been serving the community since 1984. With decades of experience, nothing prepared them for a pandemic.
"We're getting accustomed to it and everything, it's okay we make the best of it," owner, Joey Franks said.
Making tough decisions like opening for dine-in or not was hard, he chose curbside for most of this pandemic and made sure his employees were okay with that decision too.
"I always visit with them and everything before, before we make any decisions on ya know how we're going to operate things and I don't want to put them in harms way or anything like that," Franks said.
Employee, Glenda Cleveland has been working at Jody's for about just as long as they have been open. It's the home town feel that has her serving for 35 years.
"We've all been very lucky, got to stay busy, got to stay open so that's good," Cleveland said.
With the doors now open for dine-in, Cleveland is even happier and also wishes the best for other local businesses.
"We're just thankful for all our customers and I hope for everybody business does good," Cleveland said.
