BRYAN, TX — Mr. G's in downtown Bryan has been serving everyone the best authentic Italian pizza for 25 years.
Giovanni Cerone is the owner, originally from Italy, he knows what it takes to make the best pie. Even though many love his pizza, he has taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic and stay at home order.
"There's no one sitting in our restaurant and we are suffering for that," Cerone said.
He is thankful for the loyal customers that are still stopping by for their slice of the pie. Rishard Bogue and Nancy Downing call themselves Mr. G aficionados. Frequently eating in the downtown Bryan area it's usually a hot spot for food traffic.
"I expect that once the COVID-19 pandemic is over there will be a lot of people downtown here especially on first Friday's," Bogue said.
A quarter of a century, Mr. G's has welcomed everyone who walks through their doors like family. They’re keeping that same feeling even when they have to stay 6 feet back.
"We don't shake hands but we share the smiles that they are giving to us," Cerone said.
Mr. G's hopes to stay for many more years and they can when people like Bogue and Downing stop by during the roughest of times.
