HEWITT, TX — A hewitt pizza parlor has continued to see loyal customers amid dining restrictions.

Poppa Rollo's has been serving the community since 1969.

Their beloved pizza has made it hard for customers to stay away, even through restrictions.

"I got customers that come every Thursday and I have customers that come every Saturday and eat it picnic style in the parking lot," Owner, Justin Duty said.

Poppa Rollo'ssays they are trying to keep a sense of normalcy.

"The only way we can make it happen is you open up see what kind of volume we do and adjust it accordingly," Duty said.

Of course, Poppa Rollo's had to cut back on hours.

Brooke Chaudoin, an employee at Poppa Rollo's, is more than happy to have a job during this time.

"I'm very thankful because this is how I pay for my stuff so I'm very thankful," Chaudoin said.

Duty realized a certain group of people were getting extra special thank you's recently.

"We had a number of good long time customers call in and buy large orders for hospitals and doctors offices," Duty said.

That gave him the idea to offer a free 8-inch pizza to all first responders.

"We were able very quickly to determine that we were able to stay open and keep the employees with us so once we were able to answer all those hard questions we wanted to give back in some way," Duty said.

Poppa Rollo's is running the free 8-inch special for first responders until Sunday, April 26. Orders must be placed online at popparollos.com.

Please enter coupon code “FIRST” before you check out. Then check out as normal using cash as the payment method.

There is a limit one discount per customer, per ticket and valid for pick up only.
They also ask to please have your ID ready at pickup.

Make sure to follow them on their Facebook page for upcoming deals and family packs.
