WACO, TX — If you've ever taken a stroll into MC Art Supplies, you will find just about everything you need for a creative project.

Owners Aaron and Jessica Williams greet everyone with the best attitude and a welcoming smile. They bought the store in 2017, but before that, it had been around for decades.

"MC Art Supplies has been around probably since the early 80s, late 70s," said Aaron.

For them, taking over was a fun challenge.

"There was a lot of vintage inventory that we clearanced out and brought in things," said Jessica.

"And just making things scannable," Aaron chimed in.

Once they got going, it was easy to build relationships and friendships with countless people throughout the community.

"We've been pleasantly surprised by how awesome, creative people there are here who are also supportive and have become our friends," said Aaron.

Aaron and Jessica are artists themselves.

"He is a musician, and I do more of the painting and pottery," Jessica said.

When COVID-19 caused unknown fear, the community never left their side.

"We were physically closed for two weeks, and we were worried. It was just pretty nonstop to still get orders, and we encouraged people on social media," said Aaron.

Now that they are back open, the Williams say they have big goals moving forward.

"In the future if we have a bigger building, we could have a classroom space and more services," Jessica said.

So next time you are looking for ways to get creative or have any questions, you might want to say hello to Aaron and Jessica.

MC Art Supplies is at 2025 Washington Avenue. You can also check out their Facebook for any updates about the store.
