WACO, TX — Nick Salazar pulls up with this trailer and fires up the generator. The soap and water are flowing in every nook and cranny, pandemic or not.

"It picked up especially when the pandemic hit," Salazar said.

Nick's Foam and Go Mobile Car Wash had its best year ever in 2020, in part he points out because many in-person car washes shut down and thanks to Google reviews.

"Just word of mouth letting people know that we were working and still rocking and rolling," Salazar said.

It seems to be working and he's building a team. He already has one employee and will be training two more soon.

"We gotta couple tricks up our sleeve. Can't tell everybody," Salazar said.

From the wash to ceramic coating and even detailing, he does it all by hand.

"That does prevent the scratches," Salazar said.

Finally, he uses compressed air to dry the car off and it's ready to hit the road.

"Man, we're from Texas. We want to give them that good ole handshake and you can't do that," Salazar said.

So, for now, "Give 'em fist bumps and elbows." While his eyes are on the future.

"Soon we'll be able to open up one of those big boys down the road. That's the ultimate goal," Salazar said.

Another small business, despite COVID, that's still able to say, 'we're open.'

Nick says he washes everything from bikes to big rigs.
