MEXIA, TX — Making his dream a reality and giving back to his hometown of Mexia is exactly what Damien Hall is doing alongside his wife.

With his passion for fashion, the couple recently opened the doors to their brand new urban clothing store, Big Drip Fashion Hall.

The city of Mexia is a tight-knit community the Halls call home. They say the need for an urban clothing store was always there.

"I always had a love for clothing and fashion. Growing up here, we never really had a place to shop," said Damien.

Big Drip Fashion Hall is more than just a business, it's a dream come true for Damien.

"Just looking at everybody else's clothes and always wanting it and just dreaming of always wanting to have my own," he said.

His wife has stood by his side and helped him every step of the way.

"Seeing him smile and being happy knowing that he is making a difference within our community while also achieving his dreams just means everything to me," said Shandreka.

Their store has provided a space where local community members can shop for a fresh styles and even get his help.

"It's feel-good clothes is what I call it. There is nothing better than dressing someone up and they are smiling and they are happy and it gives them confidence," said Damien.

Damien is a veteran and says that after traveling around the world, he knows starting a business in his hometown is the right move.

"Especially with us being a black-owned business, we would like to be role models for children in the community that they can do anything they want if they put their minds to it. Their dreams can come true," said Shandreka.

Both say the pandemic motivated them to reflect on their goals and take action.

Big Drip Fashion Hall is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
