WACO, TX — It's a unique boutique, HOPE by Isabela, founded by 20-year-old Isabela Lozano.

It stands for "helping others prosper economically," which is what Lozano is aiming to do.

Before her business became a reality, it started with an idea.

"We would travel to Mexico and see the traditions and culture, and I loved it," says Isabela Lozano, "I loved bringing it over here, and people would compliment me, and I thought 'man if only there were something like it here in Waco.'"

Her idea quickly became a reality.

"I launched my Facebook page the first week of May, and that is when I went virtual and online, and I did curbside."

Her journey started at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, but it didn't stop her. If anything, she says going virtual bumped up her business.

"I think people really liked online shopping, so a lot of people were at home scrolling through Facebook. I had a lot of awesome feedback in the first couple of months."

So what makes Hope by Isabela so special? All of her products are from small local vendors in Mexico, and not only does she buy from them, but she also gives back even more.

"I love to give back to the community that I buy from, and hopefully this winter break, I can do more like getting tablets or something educational to help them grow. They are small villages that I buy from, and I would love to see them advance."

She says her family has supported her from the very beginning.

"They support me in every way possible, and they are amazing. They allow me to work from home!"

Lozano says she enjoys being involved in the community and hopes to expand her business. She recently launched her mobile boutique and is excited for what is yet to come.

When she is not working, she is studying. She is a full-time student at Texas A&M, majoring in Electronic Systems Engineering.
