H-E-B announced they it is extending their "proud pay" to their employees through May 10 to all of their hourly store, manufacturing, warehouse and transportation partners.

"Thank you to our Partners who are working around the clock to keep shelves stocked and customers safe in Texas," they said.

"Proud Pay" is a temporary pay increase of $2 for each employee.

"We are proud to announce that that all hourly store, manufacturing, warehouse and transportation Partners will receive $2/hour Texas Proud Pay effective 3/16-4/12 to recognize their hard work and thank them for their commitment as they help serve our customers & communities," H-E-B announced in the beginning.

That deadline has been extended.

H-E-B said they understand it is their responsibility to provide essential services to customers during a time when so many other businesses have not been able to stay open or have had to scale back operations significantly.

"This is the spirit of H-E-B," the store said.
