COPPERAS COVE, TX — Fries Etc. has been a staple in the Copperas Cove community for 9 years.

Unfortunately, owner Ray Davis had to lay of almost his entire staff to make ends meet.

He is hopeful once restrictions start lifting, he can re-hire his staff back.

"As long as things are going as the pace we're going and things are picking up we should be able to re-hire some of the old employees," Davis said.

Of course, without customers like James Dailey, Fries Etc. wouldn't be able to stay open, and Davis couldn't hire back his crew.

"Ya know they have good food, cheap, I figure hey get a burger and some fries and just relax," Dailey said.

Daily is one of the thousands that is without a job in Texas.

Even though he's not seeing recurring payments each week, he's still going out to support local businesses.

"I know how it is to be without a paycheck coming in, and during this pandemic you're supposed to look out for your neighbors," Dailey said.

Davis says he can't appreciate the community enough for stepping up. He is thankful for his customers.

"They continue to support me and I thank them for that and just keep on coming, keeping us open and we really appreciate it," Davis said.

Fries Etc. is open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can follow them on their Facebook page for updates on yummy food.
