WACO, TX — Captain Billy Whizzbangs is working hard to stay open and trying to keep open two locations in the city of Waco.

Open since 1977, this place is known for its great atmosphere and burgers, something customer Martha Quick can attest to.

"It's awesome, it's excellent. freshly cooked made how you want it," Quick said.

Anytime Quick gets to pick the lunch spot for her and her friends, she's always wanting to go to Captain Billy's.

"It's like a family atmosphere, little groups of schools, coaches. I see a bunch of people like family members come in here," Quick said.

General Manager, Hunter Neuman is more than thankful for customers like Quick and he's grateful for his employees that are abiding to the new rules.

Multiple hand washing and sanitizer stations are there for the employees and customers to use.

The one thing that is the most difficult is mask-wearing over a hot grill.

"It can be tough on them, and I just try to tell them to push through and they know it just has to be done," Neuman said.

Captain Billy Whizzbangs is open Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday until 4 p.m. at the location on Lake Air Dr.

They also have a restaurant in Union Hall that opens at 11.
