WACO, TX — People all over the world know about living the Texas life, and Brazos River Supply Co. is authentically Texas.
Started by a Texas native, Brazos River Supply Co. is all about being loud and proud about everything it means to be a Texan.
"We say everything's bigger in Texas, and we live that, and we enjoy the things that we have here in our state," said curator of Brazos River Supply Co. Coleburn Davis.
Davis works with local craftsmen and artisans, supporting other local businesses, so they'll support him.
"Business here in Waco wanna support each other, we wanna help build each other up and help build up downtown Waco to make sure we all succeed," said Davis.
But like a lot of other local businesses when the pandemic hit, Davis says they struggled.
"Being in downtown Waco, we get a lot of foot traffic and a lot of tourist traffic, so when businesses were shut down we had a lot of business go away or stop for a period of time, so we had to shift to the web."
But once they were allowed to reopen, Davis says things started to improve and they started seeing a lot of familiar faces, especially during the holiday season.
"We've seen a lot of local people come in through the Christmas season, people that we've gotten to know over the last couple of years."
Located right next to interior glow, both businesses have been able to rely on each other throughout the pandemic.
"We trust each other and it goes along the way that we can kind of support each other and lean on each other in that way."
With the “you scratch my back, I'll scratch your back” mentality, Davis says if you go to his store looking for an item that he may not have, he'll do his best to tell you where you can find it.
"If I can send someone to a friend down the street, hopefully, they'll do the same for me."
