WACO, TX — Blanek's has been serving the Waco community for 30 years. Starting as a food truck on the Baylor campus then moving to catering, Blanek's loves partying with you.

"Catering is so much fun, everything is different every day you have a new event you have new clients so the scenery changes," catering manager, Jamie Blanek said.

They started seeing cancellations for their big events in March and it just went downhill from there.

"They just kept canceling from March, April, May, June." Blanek said.

Blanek's needed to make changes and fast, so they decided to serve on a smaller scale. Whether it's just you or a larger family you can order from their menu of the week.

Kaydi Perry has loved stopping by to get her Blanek's fix.

"You can go get an individual meal and it's great because you don't have to have extras or leftovers," Perry said.

Perry knows the importance of supporting local and she will continue to do it even after the pandemic.

"It helps your neighbor, it sends somebody's kid to dance or football, even though we don't have it right now. It's just important to help those around you and make sure everything stays here," Perry said.

Blanek's has received great feedback on the smaller menu, many asking if they can do this all the time.

Even though their special is big parties they are still mastering those parties of 10 or less.

"You have to be able to adapt this is something we see as working and so we would like to still feed people on a smaller scale and that's what we're going to continue to do," Blanek said.
