WACO, TX — Around The World Bakery opened on April 27th, right in the middle of a pandemic.
That wasn't going to stop owner, Adilene Camarena. She's always been baking, Camerena's love started when she was in middle school and it quickly grew.
After graduating from TSTC she traveled all over the world and that gave her inspiration for her own bakery.
"I wanted to combine the two and bring a little bit o both into my creation would be Around The World Bakery," Camarena said.
Originally from Hillsboro, she's always loved the smaller cities and sees a lot of potential in the city of Waco.
"It's constantly growing, especially right now and I want to grow with Waco," Camarena said.
Around The World is doing all they can to keep you and themselves safe. Wearing masks and sanitizing highly touched areas, they'll do whatever it takes to stay open.
Camarena chose to open her bakery in the middle of a pandemic which came with restrictions given by the state.
Even though business has been slow, it's a lot better than she could have ever hoped.
"If this is what it feels like to be open at 50% we're ready to see what it feels like at 100," Camarena said.
Around The World is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
