WACO, TX — 3 Spoons Frozen Yogurt in Waco was forced to close their doors for 6 weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They say that was an extremely hard decision.

After being in business for 10 years, they wanted to stay open, but without dine-in it was hard to tackle.

After Governor Abbott allowed restaurants and other eateries to open their doors to dine-in, 3 Spoons opened their doors too.

"We are just happy to be back open now and ya know slowly but surely picking up and we're just going to do everything we can to push through it," Co-owner, Heather Isenhour said.

The self serve option is still available, but 3 Spoons has decided to implement some slight changes.

"The employees handle the toppings bar and put all the toppings where the customer wants them, it's just one less touch point for them," Isenhour said.

All employees are also wearing masks, a sneeze guard has been installed at the register and they are disinfecting commonly touched surfaces regularly.

Since opening their doors, they have been thrilled to see some new and old friends.

"A lot of our regulars came in right away so it was really good to see them and just connect with them again," ISenhour said.

This is a business that is here to stay no matter what is thrown at them.

They know they aren't the only ones struggling, and that's why every Wednesday they highlight a different non-profit to donate 10% of sales to each month.

For the month of May, Caritas of Waco will be receiving the help.

3 Spoons Frozen Yogurt is open everyday noon to 10 p.m.
