KILLEEN, TX — Killeen police say two people are dead following two separate overnight shootings.
Police have identified one of the victims as 19-year-old Jonathan Martinez-Cruz of Killeen.
The shootings occurred in the 2100 block of Reese Creek Rd., and in the 3900 block of Old FM 440 Rd.
Officers responded to the shooting on Old FM 440 Rd. around 9:50 Wednesday night.
When police arrived, they found Martinez-Cruz in the parking lot of a four-plex apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the Carl R. Darnell Army Medical Center in critical condition.
He later died at the hospital.
The Bell County Justice of the Peace is sending the man's body to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for an autopsy.

Police also responded to a shooting on the 3900 block of Reese Creek Rd., just before 9 p.m. last night.
A preliminary investigation revealed a disturbance between a female resident and a suspect, and a man who lived in the home who intervened in the altercation. The suspect shot the man, and forced the woman into his car. She was later released in Round Rock. The victim died at the scene, and the police have apprehended the suspect -- he's being held at the Killeen City Jail, charges pending.
Police tell 25 News the two shootings are not connected.
