WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE/CNN) — A video of a young boy running to give his pizza man a hug in Rhode Island is going viral on social media, but the story behind the moment is heartbreaking.
The child's mother, Lindsey Sheely, decided to share the cute moment on social media. At the time, she had no idea what the moment meant for the man behind the pizza box, Ryan Catterson.
Catterson had lost his daughter in the last week, and he said the young man's hug was like she was there. He said it meant so much to him.
Catterson's 16-year-old daughter struggled with mental health and recently passed away unexpectedly.
Catterson said it's going to be tough never being able to hug her again.
