Over 70 stores are expected to close their doors on Thanksgiving Day 2019.
Many have decided to close so that workers can spend time with their families on the holiday.
Stores that have announced they will be closing for Thanksgiving, or that have closed their doors in recent years, include major outlets like Academy Sports & Outdoors, Barnes and Noble, World Market, Home Depot, Sam's Club, Lowe's, Marshalls and several others.
Black Friday has spread to Thanksgiving Day in recent years, with many people heading out to enjoy the big deals leading up to Christmas Day. According to a survey by BestBlackFriday.com, 72% of consumers believe stores should close on Thanksgiving Day.
Some store locations in certain markets may still be open on Thanksgiving Day.
