COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Officials with the USS Arizona have announced the passing of Pearl Harbor survivor Donald Stratton.
He was a Seaman First Class when he was stationed aboard USS Arizona on December 7, 1941.
Officials say one of Stratton’s final wishes were that people remember Pearl Harbor and the men aboard the USS Arizona. Share their story and never forget those who gave their all for our great country.
His granddaughter posted this message on social media about his passing, "Donald Stratton was an incredible man. Survivor of the USS Arizona (1/3), husband and grandfather. He lived an extraordinary life. Dove in a 2 man sub, traveled the world and wrote a NYT best seller All the Gallant amen. Gonna miss you grandpa. Love cricket."
