A little boy awoke from a coma after his heart stopped -- and the first thing he did was smile at his dad.
This picture of Michael was taken only moments after he woke up.
"This is our beautiful son Michael," says his mother on the family's GoFundMe page.
"At 14 weeks and 3 days old he went to bed like any other baby. But at 5am he had suffered heart failure."
Emma Labuschagne, Michael's mother, said the family cannot begin to describe how much pain they felt in that moment.
"We watched our baby breathless, gasping for air while his heart stopped and paramedics worked to save his life," said his mother.
Michael had gone into cardiac arrest, which put him into a coma.
Later, Michael was diagnosed with a Cardiac Fibroma in the left chamber of his heart.
According to the family, it's very rare and only a "handful of patients" have ever been diagnosed with the condition in the UK.
Michael's family, from the UK, is trying to raise money for a surgery he desperately needs at Boston Hospital in the United States.
The family says the NHS will not fund the surgery, so they have turned to GoFundMe.
Boston Hospital quoted the family $147,000 or £120,000. So far, the family has raised £56,439 of its £120,000 goal.
According to Michael's mom, Boston Hospital has successful performed the surgery that Michael needs several times.
"They are confident that they can drastically improve, or even cure, his condition by resecting the tumour," said his mom.

Please please help us by donating whatever you can to this cause. My baby needs this operation to have a chance at living a normal life. He currently has an internal pacemaker and defibrillator, but this has caused physical development delay and is currently at max threshold, which means it is not working as effectively as it should.
The family's dream is to get Michael to Boston as as they can.
