CENTRAL TEXAS — Award-winning journalist Todd Unger will join 25 News as anchor of the weeknight 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Todd most recently spent time working on a documentary, investigating the European Union and Romanian Justice System.

Prior to that, he was a reporter and fill-in anchor for WFAA in Dallas/Fort Worth.

He also previously worked at KOAT in Albuquerque, NM.

“We are very excited to introduce Central Texas to our new anchor, Todd Unger,” said Adam Chase, KXXV’s Vice President and General Manager. “His passion for journalism and knowledge of the Texas market will only strengthen our commitment to the viewers that trust us day in and day out.”

Todd is a regular volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

He has called Texas home for more than 7 years, and his fiancé has family here in Waco.

He was one of the first reporters on scene at the massive fertilizer plant explosion in West, TX six years ago. He reported live on the immediate aftermath for 13 hours during WFAA's wall-to-wall coverage of the explosion.

His work has been regularly recognized by the Texas AP Broadcasters Association, and he took home a 2018 Lone Star Emmy for his coverage of Hurricane Harvey.

Todd has also been nominated for several other Emmys, and his on-air contributions helped WFAA win regional Murrow Awards for "Best Newscast."

Todd Unger’s first evening on the desk will be Monday, March 2.
