WACO — Thousands were in attendance for the 57th annual Book Sale hosted by the Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library.
The three day event sold tens of thousands of books, all funding the four Waco-McLennan County Library locations.
"We love our libraries, they make Waco a really great place," exclaimed Franci Rogers, the Chair of this year's book sale.
She says all funds collected throughout the three day book sale event helps fund the library's summer reading program, special guest speakers, and the library's newest upgrade, a van for library on the go.
"100% of all money we make goes to our Waco libraries," said Rogers.
She explained most books at the sale were donated to the libraries.
"Every year we have people who say 'oh gosh I was going to donate that stack of books to the library, and they're having their sale, is it too late?' and it's not too late," said Rogers, making sure that donations are always welcome.
Book donations are welcome year round at the West Waco Library location.
