Suspect in shooting arrested in Copperas Cove

COPPERAS COVE, TX — One of the suspects in a shooting on June 9 in Copperas Cove was identified and arrested, according to Copperas Cove police Sgt. Kevin Miller.

Tamarcus Jaques Scott was identified in a video obtained by detectives during the investigation. An arrest warrant was issued for Scott and he was arrested with the help of the Killeen Police Department Burglary Unit and the United States Marshal's Office.

On June 9 at approximately 12:18 a.m., Copperas Cove police responded to the 300 block of Cove Terrace Shopping Center after reported shots were fired.

Police learned that before the shooting, several individuals were at a local business when a fight broke out. The fight moved to the parking lot, where shots were fired.

Copperas Cove Police say this incident is still under investigation and more arrests are likely to occur.
