JONESBORO, TX — A student with special needs from a school in Coryell county received a gift from his school and the football team last week.
Hunter Thompson, a senior at Jonesboro School, was presented a letterman's jacket by the school's head football coach, Eddie Gallegos, at a ceremony Thursday.

Brittany Thannisch, Hunter's sister, says the jacket came from the school.
Hunter got it from participating in the Special Olympics for several years. "The football players were proud of him and congratulated him and the head coach is the one who usually presents the jackets," said Thannisch.
"Everyone just loves him and the school has been great with him too," said Thannisch.
Students from the high school, junior high and Hunter's family showed up to the surprise event.
The honorary letterman's jacket was a sweet and emotional moment for them, according to Thannisch.
At the end of the ceremony, the football players congratulated Hunter.
"If he could play football, he would," she said. "They gave him the jacket to show their love for him."
