NWS report says storms in Bryan produced EF-2 tornado

CENTRAL TEXAS — Central Texas was hit with several Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings on Wednesday.

A Tornado Warning was issued for Madison, Brazos, Burleson, Robertson and Milam Counties.

The National Weather Service said a tornado touched down at FM 1179 and Coyote Run. The storm damaged four structures.

The NWS preliminary statement said that the tornado in Brazos County was an EF-2 tornado. It touched down about four miles east of Bryan along Farm and Market Road 1179 at around 4:42 p.m.

The tornado caused damage to one house and four commercial buildings and warehouses. The tornado then tracked north to northwest towards another warehouse building with tree damage along its path before dissipating near Merka Drive around 4:47 p.m.

Other damages from the tornado ranged from a EF-0 to an EF-1.

A Brazos Valley small wedding business was hit by the tornado on Wednesday. A GoFundMe was created to help the Epicures Catering Inc. rebuild or to arrange other kitchen and equipment rental needs while they rebuild their small business.

There were also several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued for Central Texas counties as well.

Due to the amount of rain, there were several roads shut down by police.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Madison County.

The warning has been issued until 7:30 p.m.
