Police located wanted man out of Groesbeck

GROESBECK, TX — Police located a wanted man Friday night.

According to police, they were looking for Richard Brandon Murphy, he was wanted in connection with theft of a motor vehicle and firearm.

Murphy was captured by Mexia police after they received a tip that indicated Murphy was in the area.

After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody.

He was transported to the Limestone County Jail where he was charged with evading arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

He had the following outstanding arrest warrants:

  • Theft of firearm
  • Parole violation
  • Theft of property
