New I-35 closures planned for Temple and Waco on Thursday

CENTRAL TEXAS — New closures are scheduled to take place on I-35 in Waco and Temple on Thursday, Aug. 1 for repairs, said the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

On I-35 Northbound, the right lane and shoulder will be closed between Moonlight Drive (MM 326) and Sun Valley Boulevard (MM 328). The lane will close at 9 p.m. on Thursday and reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday.

On I-35 Southbound, the right shoulder and exit ramp will be closed at Loop 363/US 190, closing off Exit 299. This will close at 7 a.m. Thursday and reopen at 5 p.m. on Friday.

On I-35 Southbound, the right lane and shoulder will be closed at West Avenue H as crews repair a damaged exit sign. This closure is at Mile Marker 300. It will close at 7 a.m. on Thursday and reopen at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Mainlane closures are also planned on I-35 in Waco Wednesday night at 7 p.m. for crews to work on the demolition of the 11th/12th Street bridge. Those lanes will open back up at 6 a.m. on Thursday.

TxDOT reminds drivers to watch for warning signs of closures and directions for alternative routes. These are the planned closures, depending on weather.
