HARKER HEIGHTS — The Harker Heights neighborhood surrounding Skipcha Elementary needs your help finding a thief.

"I was outside cleaning my car and our neighbor came over and was like, 'Hey I just want to let you guys know, someone broke into our car. We don't know if they tried to go into yours.' So that's when I started to go through the cameras," explained Tana Luera, a long-time resident of the neighborhood.

Her neighbor told her their gun was stolen."Its a little violating because we are typically a safe neighborhood... Usually in the summer when kids aren't in school, I think they get bored and don't have anything to do...it's not normal, it's not a common thing around here."

Fortunately, on the same night as the burglary, the Luera's security camera caught a person checking car doors on surveillance. The person was wearing a white mask, and a single glove.

If you recognize this person from the surveillance footage, you are asked to call the Harker Heights Police Department at (254) 953-5400.
