WACO — Starting Saturday, Oct. 26, the southbound I-35 entrance ramp at 5th street will be closed. The closure will last into Thursday the 31st. Drivers will have to detour to the entrance south of 18th Street -- TXDoT suggests you plan extra time into your commute.
On Sunday, crews will start pouring concrete along the Southbound I-35 frontage road, starting at North Loop 340 continuing to Behren's Circle. The work will take three nights and expect overnight full closures of the frontage road, and periodic closures to the east-and-westbound lanes of N Loop 340 where they cross under I-35. The work will take place at night, so prepare for nightly road closures.
"Paving will begin from N Loop 340 and continue working south, picking up each night where they left off the night before, until they reach Behrens Circle," said TxDOT in a release. "All traffic will be routed onto the mainlanes to travel through the area, but accommodations will be made for those needing to get to work or home."
Then next week, crews will begin final paving on driveways in the area, "maintaining local access via side streets or partial driveway access, as applicable."
All plans are subject to change based on weather conditions.
