COPPERAS COVE, TX — A Copperas Cove mother of four is seeking the title of Ms. Health and Fitness 2019.

Liz Petitt is many things. A mom of four, a wife, veteran, and if you ask her kids, she is a superhero. But she is looking to add another title to the list, Ms. Health and Fitness 2019.

“I always had a small passion for fitness but when you have kids, everything just gets put on the back burner,” said Pettit, 36.

The 2019 Golds Gym Transformation Challenge winner started carving out a little time for herself at the YMCA about five years ago.

“Just because you grow to have a family and different things, like that it doesn’t mean that later on you can’t hop back in there and influence people,” she said. That passion continued to grow, as she became a personal trainer.

A colleague suggested she enter into the Ms. Health and Fitness 2019. While unsure at first, she was excited to inspire other people, including her own children.

“Our kids are always watching us. They hear us, but they watch us. And they’re going to do what they do, so if they see you do the things you do as a parent and then step outside that box and do something different, it really encourages them to do the same thing,” said Pettit.

The winner gets a spread in Muscle & Fitness Hers and $20,000. Voting ends on Wednesday night.
