MARLIN, TX — Due to flooding on the campus, Marlin Elementary closed for the school year early.
The flooding was caused by a pipe that burst which was connected to the water boiler. It spewed water into the building from Saturday until Sunday and flooded the elementary school.
A company has been called to help clean up the damages, but the district said the restoration will take longer than expected.
The elementary school's end of the year awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday at the Marlin Junior Academy in the gym.
