COLLEGE STATION, TX — A man is in the Brazos County Jail after he stole man's dog and Xbox.

The arrest affidavit said that on Tuesday around 2 p.m., officers were informed that there had been several burglaries on Kenyon Dr. in the University Heights Neighborhood over the course of a few days.

In one of the burglaries, a man's dog was stolen.

Police received a description of the suspect and his vehicle, and they were able to locate it at the intersection of Harvey Mitchell Pkwy and Texas Ave. When officers spoke to the suspect, he admitted that his insurance and registration had expired, but the dog belonged to him.

The dog's owner arrived on scene, and he told officers that his dog, an Xbox and some Airpods were stolen from his home. The suspect, Mathea Johnson, then admitted to walking into the victim's home and stealing his property, including the dog.

Officers found the stolen Airpods in the vehicle and returned them to the victim.

Johnson was charged with burglary of a habitation and possession of marijuana. He is being held on a $12,000 bond.
