Man arrested for murder after physical altercation leaves one dead in Clifton

CLIFTON, TX — A 28-year-old man has been arrested for murder after a physical altercation left another man dead.

Andrew Conor Pritchett was arrested and charged with murder, according to Clifton Police.

Clifton police say on June 27, at approximately 12:15AM, CPD was called to assist EMS with an unresponsive man at a local residence.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS and transported by ambulance to Goodall Witcher where he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy has been ordered.

During the course of the investigation and due to circumstances related, the area Texas Ranger was contacted and arrived to assist with the investigation.

Preliminary evidence indicated that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with a known associate which led to his condition and death, according to Clifton Police.

During the course of the investigation, and with statements of witnesses, it was determined that the victims injuries and death were due to, and resulted from, the physical altercation.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested Andrew Conor Pritchett, charging him with murder.

Investigating officers have made notification of the death to the local family members.

The identity of the deceased will be withheld pending the notification of extended, non-local family.

Bosque County Deputies also assisted on scene.

"I wish to express to our community that this was an isolated incident occurring between two associated individuals. The suspect is in custody. There is no threat to the public safety of our community," said Clifton Chief Hendricks.
