Crunch Fitness is just one of the many gyms across the country preparing for a new wave of guests as people set out to fulfill their New Year's resolutions.

“January is always our busiest months. So for gyms, that first month of every year is always gonna be where we have our most traffic,” explained Clayton Barnett, general manager of Crunch Fitness in Waco.

“Stay dedicated and just hit it hard. Stay with it. Results will come,” preached Tommy Steven, a member at Crunch Fitness.

In 2020, gyms have had to implement new safety measures to keep guests safe. In 2021, those safety protocols will remain the same.

“We have cleaning attendants that are cleaning areas throughout the day. Our staff is always cleaning, and we are asking members to also clean and wipe down equipment as well. Being 24 hours and non-commitment allows our members to also choose when they want to workout,” said Barnett.

Amid a tough year, going to the gym for many individuals was more than just about staying healthy, but also about escaping the stress of jobs and the events happening in the world around us.

“It's a really big deal for us to see people from where they start and where they are two months from now, three months from now or even a year later to see the progress that they’ve made,” said Barnett.

“I’m here seven days a week. I am here every single day. I can't miss. I don’t like to miss. It's just overwhelming with happiness. As soon as I walk in here, my whole attitude changes,” said Stevens.

If getting in shape is your New Year's resolution, well you’re in luck. Many local gyms are offering specials and discounts right now on memberships, including Crunch Fitness, who has the Transformation Challenge to help you kick-start your fitness journey in 2021.
