GROESBECK, TX — A Limestone County constable and K-9 are finalists for a police SUV giveaway.

Limestone County Precinct 3 Constable Glenn Shoemaker and K-9 Teddy are among 30 finalists nationwide for the Vested Interested in K9s SUV Giveaway.

In the bio, Constable Shoemaker said he and K9 Teddy are the only patrol-certified team in Limestone County. Patrol certification includes criminal apprehension, building search, vehicle and water extraction and tracking. The pair are also narcotics certified.

The giveaway includes a new police package Chevy Tahoe K-9 unit, valued at up to $50,000.

Constable Shoemaker said the county does not provide vehicles for its constables, and their current Tahoe has over 141,000 miles.

People can vote once a day for their favorite K-9 team. The finalist with the most eligible votes by 8 a.m. EST on October 31, 2019 will win the SUV.
