LAMPASAS. TX — Lampasas residents are now able to text 911 during emergency situations.
The City of Lampasas announced the new program on Facebook.
In an emergency, Lampasas residents can text 911 for help. An automated system will confirm that a text message has been received, and a conversation with a dispatch officer will begin.
The City of Lampasas says people in need of help should still call 911 if they are able to.
