Man identified, arrested after shooting toward Lacy Lakeview officers

25 News has obtained the arrest affidavit in connection to a man that fired upon Lacy Lakeview police Monday.

According to the report, police were sent out to a residence around 6 p.m. on a disturbance call.

Officers talked to two brothers at the home, who were having a verbal argument.

As one brother made arrangements to leave with another person, a man now identified as Marcus Mahoney returned to the front door with a 9mm handgun.

"Marcus fired multiple rounds from the handgun...in the direction of officers in the roadway," the affidavit reads.

The officers retreated behind cover while awaiting backup, while Mahoney continued to fire shots from inside the home.

Mahoney eventually surrendered and was arrested. He was booked into the McLennan County Jail on three counts of assault against a public servant. Bond is set at $300,000.

Lacy Lakeview police are investigating after a person fired upon officers Monday night.

Police say the incident happened in the 600 block of North Norma Drive.

"All parties are safe at this time with the suspect in police custody," police said.
