KILLEEN, TX — AdventHealth Central Texas is expecting an intense flu season this year - mainly because this week they have seen an uptick in patients with flu-like symptoms.

They said they are treating at least 100 cases a day - that's half of their patients. They added that it is never too late to get the flu shot.

Flu season starts in early October, and many hospitals in the area are experiencing a similar influx.

AdventHealth says the best thing you can do is always wash your hands and to get your flu shot.

People should be seen for flu-like symptoms if the have shortness of breath, fever or vomiting that's not controlled with regular medications.
