TROY, Texas (KXXV) — Construction crews in Troy pierced a six-inch water line in Troy, which resulted in a boil water notice for locals and businesses.
- Troy water crews responded Friday at 1 p.m. to a large water leak on Trojan Road, which was eventually fixed.
- The leak led to reported house outages and low water pressure for surrounding schools. A boil water notice was also put into effect.
- Water samples were sent to a lab for examination before the city decided to rescind the boil water notice — with results expected to be received in 24 hours, which could rescind the Boil Water Notice.

"It's heavily impacted us because the majority of foods we make require water, so if we're being realistic," Erika Garcia said.
"We've had to close early or stop working while they solve the issue."
It's been three days since independent construction crews hit a six-inch water line, forcing the city to issue a boil water notice.
Water outages were reported at some homes, and the schools in the area experienced a loss of water pressure.

"We're the only Mexican restaurant in Troy, and we're feeling it, so I can imagine what the people have gone through," Garcia said.
Jalisco's Troy, off Central Avenue, is one of those businesses still feeling the effects.
While the shop is being impacted, so are the workers.
"Here, especially for me—I have lost hours of work, and I commute from the temple, so it's been a bit of a strain," Garcia said.
Many Mexican dishes at the restaurant use water in their recipes, such as soups, beans, rice, and even drinks.

You guys sell aguas frescas, so what have you all done differently with the boil water notice in effect?" Monroy asked Garcia in Spanish.
"When this first started on Friday, we stopped making the waters, but in general, we use a filter," Garcia said.
While repairs are done—the City of Troy says it won't have to worry about the bill, as the contractor is paying for all the damage to the water line.
"It really affects us, and I hope this notice is lifted quickly," Garcia said.
