UPDATE

State troopers have released more information on the fatality crash that killed five earlier Wednesday.

Witnesses say that a car was traveling and passed them at a high rate of speed southbound on US 281 after 5:30 a.m. According to Texas DPS, evidence shows that the vehicle that a car traveling southbound had a blowout, causing the driver to lose control and cross into the northbound lanes.

The car crossed into a path of an SUV and crashed into it. The driver and passenger in the car, identified as 31-year-old Jacinto Duran and a 23-year-old woman, died on scene. Both were from Copperas Cove.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 45-year-old Mani Arvind of Leander. The passengers were 40-year-old Pradeepa Arvind and 17-year-old Andril Arvind. They were also pronounced dead on the scene.

Next of kin for the victims have been notified.
