UPDATE:
McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara told 25 News that the suspect, 36-year-old Richard Ozment of China Spring, was taken into custody after a daylong, multiagency search.

McNamara said Ozment was arrested in connection to the murder of a 38-year-old woman, adding that a machete was used.

The search for Ozment brought out five agencies, including the McLennan County Sheriffs Office, Waco Police Department, game wardens, Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) with tracking dogs and horses.

Sheriff McNamara said a TDCJ deputy on a horse found Ozment not far from the crime scene, hiding out about 200 to 300 yards away.

Ozment was taken into custody and brought to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office to be interviewed, with charges to follow.

Sheriff McNamara said Ozment was sentenced to 40 years in 2014 for robbing churches, but only served 10 years and just paroled out, with 30 years left on his parole sentence.

UPDATE:
The China Spring Volunteer Fire Department updated it's social media page, saying the suspect was reportedly apprehended.

25 News is working to confirm details with the McLennan County Sheriff's Office on the identity of the suspect.

ORIGINAL STORY:
On Saturday morning, the China Spring Fire Department posted on social media asking for help in locating a homicide suspect. The department asked residents in China Spring and the surrounding neighborhoods to look out for anyone who looked suspicious and to contact the McLennan County Sheriff's Office with any information.

Sheriff Parnell McNamara tells 25 News a woman was killed, and the suspect fled the scene. Investigators are at a house in the 1500 block of Old China Spring Road, which is possibly connected to the case.

A helicopter is being used to look for the suspect. The sheriff's office is unable to provide us with a description of the suspect at this time, and the cause of death is unknown. One neighbor tells us the people living inside the home kept to themselves.

This is a developing story. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
