BRYAN, TX — Bryan police say a rollover crash involving an 18-wheeler shut down traffic on Highway 6 for several hours Sunday.

Bryan PD responded to the crash at 8:52 a.m. Sunday morning in the 2800 block of North Earl Rudder Freeway (Highway 6).

The 18-wheeler was headed southbound when the driver "lost control, struck road signs, and rolled over." said Bryan PD. "The vehicle came to a rest on its side, completely blocking all south bound lanes. No other vehicles were involved, and the driver was not injured."

Bryan police had to shut down southbound Highway 6, and all traffic was diverted to Texas Avenue. It took officials about five and a half hours to clear the roadway.

The driver of the semi-truck was identified as a 44-year-old man from Fort Worth. Police say he did receive a citation of "Driving too fast for conditions."
