HOUSTON — A Harris County deputy constable springs to save a man from an attempted suicide jump on a freeway overpass yesterday for the second time in just two years.

25 News obtained a copy of the deputy's body camera footage showing the moments leading up to the rescue. The man can be see sitting over the concrete railing as drivers passed along near the 4500 block of the North Sam Houston Tollway.

As police officers tried talking with the unidentified man, Deputy Netro, an officer assigned to the Toll Road Unit of the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable's Office, moved behind and tackled the man to safety.

This isn't the first time Netro was at the right place at the right time, though. Merely two years ago, the deputy prevented another man from jumping off an elevated flyover on the Grand Parkway in Tomball.

Police confirmed EMS workers were able to take the man to a nearby hospital for psychiatric care.

Some took to social media to praise the deputy's actions, calling Netro's response "heroic."

25 News reached out to Constable Mark Herman for comment on the deputy's rescues, but the office did not return our calls before broadcast.

This is a developing story.
