GATESVILLE, TX — Gatesville police say the 911 system in the city is now working as of Friday morning.

The 911 system in the city was inoperable for hours on Thursday.

Police said some callers were able to get through, but calls to 911 would not go through for many in the city.

On Thursday afternoon, the department said calls were being routed through Copperas Cove, who would forward them to Gatesville police.

The Central Texas Council of Governments said that a CenturyLink fiber was cut and was affecting Hamilton County, Gatesville and parts of Killeen.
