CLIFTON, TX — The Clifton Police Department is warning the community of a scam involving a fake Walmart evaluation exercise.
Officers took a report Thursday from a resident who received a letter allegedly from Walmart. The letter had a $4,900 check inside.
According to the letter, the resident was to deposit the check into their account, keep $900 for themselves and send the remaining $4,000 in money orders to the supervisor listed.
The department is warning the community that if you ever think you're getting free money, it's always likely to be a scam.
