WACO, TX — As unemployment grows amid the pandemic, more Central Texans are experiencing increased food insecurity.
On Thursday, the Central Texas Food bank donated food to anyone in need, for free.
Dozens of volunteers gathered at Waco ISD stadium to distribute food to families in McLennan Bell Counties.
Vehicles lined up as volunteers placed boxe of food in trunks.
"I think it's a good thing for people because there's a lot of people in my situation, I know it. I think it's a good thing," Luther Pimpton said.
The next food distribution will be June 27th at Temple college, 9a.m. to 12 p.m.
