ROCKDALE, TX — It was the Central Texas love story seen around the world, and one of them may become the next American Idol.
Curt Jones and Hannah Prestridge from the duo "Treble Soul" live in Rockdale, a small Central Texas town, but the judges on American Idol quickly realized they have big voices and an even bigger heart for each other.
It was a bittersweet beginning to Hannah's American Idol journey.
"You're a good man," said judge Katy Perry. "There's got to be a flower and a gardener," she said.
Ultimately the judges voted for Hannah to go to Hollywood, the next step in the competition. Curt will be by her side to support her.
"In my mindset I had to calm myself down and back up and say, "They're regular people,"" Hannah said of the television audition.
"Lionel Ritche was at the end saying, "WOW!"" added Curt.
"It was like maybe I am okay," said Hannah.
Their story of addiction and overcoming the odds together inspired millions.
"She picked us. She's been sober a year today," said Curt on the American Idol appearance. "I'm extremely proud of her and we have a second chance to make our family right," he said.
The couple can't reveal what happens in Hollywood. For now they're focused on family and music, and the world is watching.
"If we put our minds to it, there's nothing we can't do," said Hannah.
