Cleanliness is on just about everyone's mind right now.
"While COVID-19 is in effect, a healthy home is a safe home," said Lauren English, director of operations, English Maids.
English says even her family business, English Maids, has felt the impact of the coronavirus.
"Some of our regular customers have gone into shelter-in-place," said Lauren. "They're not allowing anybody inside their home. However we have also had calls for new cleanings."
COVID-19 has forced them to protect themselves in ways they have never had to before.
"Face masks and gloves for all of our employees," said Lauren. "We are disinfecting all of our equipment, which we always have done, but now we are disinfecting it with the one minute kill time new disinfectant that we're using that is more effective against the coronavirus and we're also taking temperatures."
As the Lone Star State slowly moves toward re-opening, they have some tips for you.
"Main areas that they should be cleaning and sanitizing with disinfectant everyday is going to be your counter tops, your door nobs, light switches, anything that you touch on a normal basis," said Lauren.
"Wash your hands, you know, washing your hands is going to be most effective. Don't touch your face," added Kay English, owner, English Maids.
However, some items are hard to come by, such as hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes.
Take a look at this list of homemade cleaning supplies compiled by the English Maids team. You can create "do-it-yourself disinfecting wipes" using water, vinegar, dish soap and essential oil.
"If you are unable to wash your hands and you are unable to get hand sanitizer, they can make the hand wipes to help wipe and clean their hands on the go," said Lauren. "I mean it's better than nothing."
And they have one more trick up their sleeve, a fogger.
"It will get into the air and mist into the cracks and surfaces of the home that you can't necessarily spray disinfectant on and wipe," explained Lauren.
The team will be giving out free disinfectant at their Robinson office located at 635 N Robinson Dr, Ste L Robinson, TX 76706 on April 18 from 9 a.m to 10 am. All you have to do is bring a bottle for them to fill up.
